Flood-like situation is prevailing in north-east region of Bangladesh due to rising of water level in major rivers of the region.
Executive engineer of Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre Md Amirul Hossain said water level at some stations of the rivers was increasing alarmingly, which might deteriorate flood situation in the region.
He said normally flood occurred in the country, if water level of major rivers crosses danger marks to a great extent.
Amirul Hossain said there was a little possibility of flood in the central regions of the country as water level of the Padma River at Goalanda and Bhagyakul points was nearing danger mark. Read more...

Gabura, Satkhira, Bangladesh: It was 23rd May, 2009 cyclone AILA hit the south –west part of the country. Since then one year passed, but the misery and sufferings of Birds is still continuing.
It is very painful that due to extreme salinity the whole biodiversity is devastated and the animals life became threatened .Even after one year of Cyclone AILA the smart birds are still worried for their survival of the area. It is the fourth largest foreign exchange earner of the country contributing about six per cent of total export earnings. Satkhira, Bangladesh: It was 23rd May, 2009 cyclone Aila hit the south –west part of the country. Since then one year passed, but the misery and sufferings of climate victims is still continuing. Thousands of victims are still staying on roadsides and broken embankment. Crises of drinking water became major issues of their living.
