Satkhira, Bangladesh : Majority of the people of Khesra Union of Satkhira are jobless until now from the destruction of Aila. Fisheries are without fishes. Crop lands are without crops and roads and embankments are broken. People have to go one place from another by walking because roads are not suitable to ride any vehicle.

Local people are developing the condition of this weak infrastructure with their own efforts and with the help of Chairman. This job in this infrastructure sector is only one source of income for the majority of the people. They are giving much labor with fewer wages because they have no way to earn without it right now.

Satkhira, Bangladesh : “Suddenly, we faced a huge storm. We did not get any information or signal as weather forecasting before its coming. We took shelter at a building near to our house at night at the time of Aila. After Aila, we came back to our house and we saw there was nothing for us and Aila has taken everything. My tiny house, domestic animals and cultivation of vegetables floated and went with the water of Aila”. This is the speech of an old climate victim, Nesar Gazi, who lives in Khesra Union of Satkhira.
