RI announces ICT and Youth Grant for Bangladeshi youth
RI SOL is inviting applications from the Bangladeshi youth (up to 18 years old) to participate in an ICT and Youth Grant competition. The grant competition is part of Global Connections and Exchange Program-Bangladesh. The GCE is a project of Relief International-Schools Online which has set up internet enabled computer centers in 27 schools in 9 districts in Bangladesh to facilitate ICT based education and cross cultural projects for students, teachers and communities. In addition to promoting mutual understanding and enduring ties among schools, teachers and students across borders, GCE programs provide communities with access to information, exposure to ICT and opportunities for participation in public life. Winners of the competition will receive a grant to implement ICT based project which promotes education, social awareness, youth volunteerism, community development, cross cultural collaboration and dialogue, youth activism for social change, social entrepreneurship, adolescent health ( e.g. HIV/AIDS, ). The winning project should clearly indicate how ICT such as computer, internet, digital camera, mobile phone, website, multi media, etc will be utilized in the project activities.

• One person can submit maximum 2 project proposal. Please download the application at www.connect-bangladesh.org
• The project proposal should clearly mention how ICT will be utilized in the project activities
• Deadline for the application is 31 January 2008. Winners will be announced by 10 February 2008
• The application package will be emailed to infobd@ri.org
Eligibility:
• Bangladeshi Youth (aged up to 1
are eligible to apply for the grant.
• Potential candidates have to be familiar with using internet, email, website etc.
Awards:
• Ten winners will be selected by a panel of judges.
• Each of the ten winners will receive a certificate and a grant (100 USD or the equivalent in Bangladeshi currency).
• Winners may be invited to an Award Ceremony to be held in Dhaka. Economy transport cost, accommodation and some expenses will be covered.
• Winning projects will be posted on GCE website.

Voice of South is trying to ensure youth’s involvement with development initiatives. We have some plan to highlight rural developments leaded by youth initiators. We want to speedup rural youths by providing them ICT based training. We have some plan to run youth leadership workshops.
Voice of South will be a platform for south Asian youths also. We accept blogging and citizen journalism from youths to promote their voices. Voice of south believes that youth people can make positive changes for a village, a nation as well as a country.

whatever it takes to nominate, select and finally recognize a place of natural strength as a wonder of the world: COX’S BAZAR & SUNDARBANS in Bangladesh have it …………
so leaving the biasness aside the body responsible for such recognitions should instantly move in to some actions an do the needful
when you visit the cox’s bazar and the sundarbans of Bangladesh and then when you compare them with the other visited wonders of the world, you genuinely believe that there is an utter need and the call of the time to declare these two places as the next wonders of the world …………….. these two places deserve all the recognition !!!!!!
